New Managing Partner for MG+A

Vestavia Hills, AL-based, Myrick, Gurosky and Associates, Inc. (MG+A), is proud to announce that Alan Dobbins has joined Paul Head as a Corporate Shareholder and Managing Partner. Alan began his career with MG+A in 2000 with a primary focus on business development and marketing. Working alongside the original founders, Wayne Myrick and Scott Gurosky, Alan has played a key role in MG+A’s growth and market expansion over the last two decades. In addition to his overall leadership role as managing partner of the firm, Dobbins will continue to lead MG+A’s pre-construction team working closely with clients through the project development and design process. Alan is also a founding principal in MG Systems, a newly established Audio, Video, Lighting Integration company with a specialization in church facilities.

Alan was born and raised in the Birmingham area where he began his career. Upon graduation from Vestavia Hills High School in the early ’90s, Alan attended Samford University on a baseball scholarship and graduated from Samford’s Business School. Before joining MG+A’s team in 2000, he spent four years in Corporate Banking. Alan and his wife Jessica live in Homewood and are actively involved at Haven Field Community Church where he serves as an Elder. Alan and Jessica have a daughter, Sydney, and two sons, Will and Daniel.

MG+A is most recognized as a leader in the development of church and church-related facilities having been involved in over 300 church-related projects. In addition, the company also provides Design-Build services for corporate, institutional, retail, and healthcare-related markets throughout the southeastern United States. Alan’s ownership in the company follows the recent transition of co-founder, Scott Gurosky who served as President for more than 28 years. Gurosky will still play an active role in carrying out the mission of MG+A as he continues to collaborate with clients and design teams during the planning process.

MG+A’s Co-Founder Scott Gurosky said, “Alan was an immediate fit for MG+A when he joined the company over 20 years ago and he’s been a big reason for the growth and success of the company. Alan is incredibly gifted in his ability to develop projects by providing clear direction in often complex environments. Alan has developed an incredible team that is unparalleled in their abilities to understand all aspects of church design, systems and construction. Alan and his wife Jessica are great friends and will be great ambassadors for MG+A as he and Paul move the company forward. Alan and Paul’s life-long friendship will make the transition seamless for our company and our clients and the future is very bright for MG+A.”

Paul Head added, “Personally, I am excited for Alan and glad I can call him my partner. Alan and I have known each other for over 35 years and worked together for the past 20 years, so this will be a natural transition for our company. Alan has done a fantastic job in Business Development in his early years to now driving projects through our Pre-Construction process. He is a tremendous asset to our company and I’m excited about the future as we continue to build on our past successes.”
