Based in Birmingham, Alabama, MG+A has built a strong portfolio of church, healthcare, institutional, office, and retail projects throughout the Southeast and beyond. We believe the most successful projects are built upon a holistic approach to the planning, design, and construction process. Our goal is not only to deliver a quality final product that meets our clients’ needs, but to make the entire process – from start to finish – an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all involved.
Originally founded in 1993 by Wayne Myrick and Scott Gurosky, MG+A has grown to become a leader in church design and construction, partnering with more than 400 churches to support and advance their ministry goals. Today, MG+A is led by managing partners Paul Head and Alan Dobbins, along with an Executive Team with expertise across all aspects of the design and construction process.

Paul Head
Managing Partner / Finance & Operations
As a managing partner for MG+A, Paul Head is responsible for all accounting and finance functions, along with risk management, safety, and the project warranty process. After starting a career in public accounting, Paul joined the MG+A team in 1998 as a project accountant. As MG+A expanded over the next 20 years, Paul became a managing partner continuing his CFO duties along with other operational management responsibilities. Paul is also a founding principal in MG Systems – an Audio, Video, Lighting Integration company with a specialization in church facilities.
Paul attended Ole Miss on a football scholarship and graduated with a master’s in accounting in 1997. While at Ole Miss, Paul was a four-year letterman in football, as well as a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll football team member. In 2003, Paul was the recipient of the Regions Bank “Small Business Salute” award. He currently serves on the Vestavia Hills City Council. Paul and his wife Leigh Anne are members of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. They have two sons, Chance and John Paul and a daughter, Ryanne.
Alan Dobbins
Managing Partner / Pre-Construction
In addition to his overall leadership role as a managing partner of the firm, Alan Dobbins leads MG+A’s pre-construction team working closely with clients through the project development and design process. He began his career with MG+A in 2000 with a primary focus on business development and marketing. Working alongside the original founders, Alan has played a key role in MG+A’s growth and market expansion over the last two decades. In addition, Alan is a founding principal in MG Systems – an Audio, Video, Lighting Integration company with a specialization in church facilities.
Alan attended Samford University on a baseball scholarship and graduated from Samford’s Business School. Before joining MG+A’s team in 2000, he spent four years in Corporate Banking. Alan and his wife Jessica live in Homewood and are actively involved at Haven Field Community Church where he serves as an Elder. Alan and Jessica have a daughter, Sydney and two sons, Will and Daniel.
Kaleb Reid
Pre-Construction / Estimating
As the pre-construction manager for MG+A, Kaleb Reid is involved in each project from the very beginning. Kaleb plays a vital role in managing and directing project design to ensure budgets, timelines and client expectations are met. His goal is to ensure efficient project communication throughout the design and pre-construction process.
Kaleb attended Auburn University where he received his BS in Building Science. While at Auburn, he founded and served as president of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Auburn University Student Chapter. Kaleb and his wife Brittany live in Hoover with their three children Max, Ford, and Wells. Kaleb serves as a deacon and on the Ministry Development Team at Hunter Street Baptist Church where he has been a member for over 30 years.
Mike Evans
Senior Project Manager
As Senior Project Manager, Mike manages projects from the late stages of design through construction completion, serving as a liaison between owners, design teams, contractors, and MG+A personnel.
Mike Evans joined MG+A in 1998 and brings extensive experience in construction management to his role. He oversees procurement, scheduling, and construction activities to help deliver projects on time and within budget.
Mike holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama and previously served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is married to Melinda, and they have three children—Will, Ann Michael, and Emma. Mike and his family are actively involved at Riverchase United Methodist Church.
Phil Hagood
Integration
Phil Hagood joined MG+A in 2021 after spending nearly 10 years managing a design-build Audio-Visual installation firm in Nashville, TN. Working previously in churches and large event production, Phil bridges the gap between the highly creative, and specialized field of AV and the realities of budget and performance criteria in construction. He is a part of the MG+A preconstruction team but also works closely with project management to ensure successful AV integrations.
Phil grew up in Knoxville, TN and moved to Nashville, TN to attend Belmont University and attain a Bachelors in Business Administration. He and his wife, Mary, now live in Mountain Brook.
Donald Myrick
Senior Project Manager
Donald Myrick is a Senior Project Manager overseeing the construction process and managing personnel for many of MG+A’s projects. Donald began his career as an equipment operator in MG+A’s first year of operation – 1993 – and worked his way through various roles in the company including project superintendent, project coordinator and ultimately project manager.
Donald is married to Ivey and has a daughter, Campbell and son, Miller. The Myrick’s live in Vestavia Hills and are members of Hunter Street Baptist Church.
Hamilton Lunsford
Senior Project Manager
Hamilton Lunsford joined MG+A in 2014 after graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in Building Construction Science. As Senior Project Manager, Hamilton is the liaison between owners, the design team, contractors and MG+A personnel. He manages projects from the late stages of design through closeout to stay within budget and schedule.
Hamilton grew up in Mississippi. Since joining MG+A, he has traveled around the Southeast working on projects in Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Alabama. Hamilton has recently established residence in Hoover, Alabama.

Wayne Myrick was the founder of Myrick, Gurosky & Associates and the driving force behind the firm’s mission to serve churches with excellence, integrity, and purpose. With a career in construction spanning more than five decades, Wayne brought deep industry knowledge, steady leadership, and a genuine passion for helping churches create spaces that support their ministry.
Under Wayne’s leadership, MG+A became a trusted name in church design and construction. His vision shaped not only the projects MG+A delivered, but also the culture of the firm—one built on relationships, service, and long-term partnership.
Wayne retired in 2019 and passed away in 2021. His legacy lives on through the company he founded and the values that continue to guide MG+A’s work today.
